New chances for Socceroos Tickets?

Posted by hrmpf on January 17th, 2006

What are the alternative sources for World Cup tickets? Even if you are in the draw for tickets the chances don’t look good- 6 million applications for 250,000 tickets- that makes only 5% chance. Obviously, some games are more popular than others but I would expect the Australian games to be well subscribed. Those who have applied for tickets will be informed if they are successful on 3rd of February by email.

A patent from Apple gives an insight to their thinking for the future development of the iPod in November 2004.

In this future utopia- we’ll all be skiing with our 3 friends listening to the same music on our iPods transmitted by the friend with the musical taste.

Apple Integrated Sensing display

Posted by hrmpf on January 12th, 2006

Apple invents telescreens, 22 years too late- In a very 1984ish invention Apple has patented as Integrated sensing display- patent#- 20060007222.

Interesting patent from Apple- incorporates the camera into the screen:

An integrated sensing display is disclosed. The sensing display includes display elements integrated with image sensing elements. As a result, the integrated sensing device can not only output images (e.g., as a display) but also input images (e.g., as a camera).

Hopefully Apple will combine this with flexible displays and make the ultimate iPredator invisibility suit!
